With a history going back to 1994 Nokturnal Mortum have a long history within the black and pagan metal scenes though have never reached the levels of appeal of countrymen Drudkh and Hate Forest.
This latest masterpiece, and believe me it is, was recorded in Kharkiv, Ukraine between 2006 and 2009, and despite the slightly disjointed line-up on this record you would be hard pushed to realise some members comings and going when listening to the sublime Pagan metal contained within!
Their most diverse album to date is also their most accessible, but also ultimately their best and bodes well for the future especially with the band performing live up to and post it's release. The closest comparison is that of previous album 'Weltanshauung', though somehow the 69 minutes on offer here takes one way past that effort and cements their position sitting atop the Pagan Metal throne
