Sargeist - INTO RUIN AND DESPAIR/ Horned Almighty - TO THE LORD OUR LIVES

An excellent split showcasing Finnish underground legends Sargeist whose aptly titled half of the split "Into Ruin and Despair" proceeds to do just that, cold, grim black metal melancholy of the highest order!

Danish luminaries have injected a significant amount of rock and roll into the rather upbeat "To The Lord Our Lives". A great debt is owned to the masters of this music, namely Darkthrone, but the water that separates the two nations is enough to put a decidedly different slant to their music and dispel any notion of Horned Almighty being mere clones.
