'ANIMOSITY' LTD EDITION TO FEATURE BONUS LIVE DISC
Aussie grind deviants THE BERZERKER have announced a limited edition version of the upcoming album 'Animosity' which includes a free bonus live CD recorded on the recent UK headline tour.
The band's live set at London's Dome on 16.12.06 was captured live by Russ Russell (Napalm Death, Dimmu Borgir etc) and will issued on initial pressings only of the brand new album due February 12.

The bonus disc features 20 tracks and runs for an hour, and includes the bands infamous Morbid Angel and Carcass covers, as well as brand new cut 'Heavily Medicated'.

The Berzerker gives you the chance to design the artwork for their upcoming album
Due to The Berzerker artist Ivan Kenny-Sumiga currently re locating he will be unable to complete the album artwork by the deadline.
This opens up a very unique opportunity for 1 individual. Instead of Luke going to the nearest design company he is giving the fans the chance to show what that can do and perhaps make a name for them selves WORLDWIDE.
The art can be any style 2d or 3d. It just has to capture the brutality and class of the music...

The winning artist will have to chance to deal direct with the Luke and to design the album cover, inlay and art layout. The album has a world wide release and distribution with all the major magazines writing and reviewing the upcoming album.

The Album is currently UNTITLED but very similar soul crushing music. The artwork concept is still to stick with a new incarnation of the IRON DRAGON. But all designs will be looked at. The Deadline for final art work is October the 29th 2006. Cover size is 12x12cm 350 dpi.

Mainman comments about new album and UK tour plans
The Berzerker are currently working on their 4th studio album for Earache. The as-yet-untitled album will deliver even more brutality from the mad Aussies. With 10 tracks currently in demo form the band is waiting with baited breath to take this material into the studio and record yet another earth shattering album of Industrial Grindcore.
Working on the new album this time as always is mainman and vocalist Luke Kenny with Jason V (Self titled, World of Lies). Together the two have been working for the past few weeks to out do all their previous releases and are well on track to destroy some more brain cells with their sonic attack.

"The new material is in fucking insane" says Kenny. " I sometimes wonder when we start writing if we really can out-do our other releases, I mean we have already made some of the fastest most brutal music on the planet and when people hear the name The Berzerker, they fucking know it!.

"Even to this day, every time we've finished a writing session I listen back. And i'm stopped in my tracks by the sheer ferocity for the music... No one else assaults the listeners with such a barrage of force as we do... This time is war!"
Kenny continues:"I'm bringing back some old school vocal styles and fucking loving it. It's a crazy time for me at the moment working on all the new material and planning another 2 weeks of touring in the UK"

"We had to come back.. The last UK tour was so well attended and was so fucking violent. We gave the crowd all the energy we had (and them some) and they took it and fucking threw it back at us... As well as breaking their
bodies in the process... I know they want more... And so do we... Get ready..  Make your doctors appointments early.. Cause we coming back in December to make you bleed once more... We don't so much play music as pump out hateful Waves of blasting energy from the stage... If your brave enough we'll see you there... RROOAAGGGHHHH!!!"

THE BERZERKER previews new tracks on Australian Radio
On 7th August The Berzerker’s Luke Kenny will take over the airwaves on Melbourne’s RRR radio station. The show will be aired from 9-10pm on 102.7FM and will feature Luke being interviewed and playing a high dosage of his favourite songs.

He has also promised to play some new material from The Berzerker’s eagerly anticipated forthcoming album. THE BERZERKER SHOOT NEW CLIP FOR 'ALL ABOUT YOU'

THE BERZERKER TELLS THE TRUTH – Fans questions answered

On the 30th of January 2006 THE BERZERKER release the long-awaited new album ‘WORLD OF LIES’. We pitched a bunch of questions from the fans down to Australia.

"What does a normal day in the life of The Berzerker involve?
Get up; check mail, myspace, forum etc... Spend about 1hr
replying...breakfast, more emails, try to write some music, lunch, more mails, cleaning, eating more e-mails.... That’s pretty much it.... Groundhog day...
Where has been your favourite place to play live so far and what countries that you have never been to would you like to tour?
We love playing the UK, the crowds are so into the music...out of everywhere, the UK seems to understand what The Berzerker are about the most. We would like to play in Portugal, Spain and South America, but we'd absolutely love to play Japan. All the bands who tour there rave about how much fun it is to play there, and the bassist lived there for a while and is dying to go back.
Any special reason for unmasking?
The masks are dying and falling apart, and we went unmasked in The Berzerker DVD. Our reasons for being masked in the first place, which were to take attention away from individuals and back towards music, didn't seem to be working. People lost the ability to use their ears with us due to what their eyes were trying to process.

Will we be seeing The Berzerker setting Europe / USA ablaze in 2006?
We'll see.

What was it like to share a stage with some of your musical hero's such as Napalm Death and Vader and how did you get on with them?
It was an honour to play with those bands. They are to a degree the reason why we love extreme metal in the first place. The chance to see them play 30 nights in a row was a dream come true. Both bands were full of great guys we really had an amazing time with them. We were completely surprised by how down to earth they were, and how easy to get along with they are.
What Pets do you have?
None any more.

According to some other interviews you grew up in a mortuary. What is the most disturbing thing you have ever seen?
I don’t know but....the first naked women I ever saw was dead?

Your love for early Death Metal / Grindcore is well documented but what modern extreme metal bands and techno artists are you into at the moment?
Not too much, a lot of the new extreme metal bands are just musicians having a big musical wank instead of getting down and emanating evil and heaviness. I guess but saying that I really don’t listen to much new music at all, I’m too busy making it.
If you could go back in time to any era what time would you go back to and why?
Not sure... Id just like to go back 10 yrs and know what I know now...

What kind of books do you read?
I don’t ... I have maybe 2 books.... "Mixing with your mind" and "If chins could kill" great read...
With the re-release of some of your early Gabba EP's such as Inextricable Zenith. Have you plans to do more gabba stuff in the future?
Hell yes. It's already started. I’ve done some amazing tracks... Ill look for a release further down the track
You've collaborated with some big names in the Hardcore techno scene. How do you know Scott Brown and how did you meet Lenny Dee?
Yeah I’ve know Lenny since about 1993... Great guy... He put out my first records... At the time gabba was like 220bpm... My tracks were 378bpm, he’s like "well can ya do a couple of slower ones so I made "koala fish mutant bird" and "No" featuring The Speed Freak, Scott has been a very good mate of mine for about 4 or 5 yrs... We talk almost every day.. I just did some shows with him last week... We have lots in common... He’s a metal head too!!!
Do you think by losing the masks that your fanbase will will rise or faulter?
We honestly haven’t though about it. We didn't use the masks to win fans or personal praise in the first place. Who knows, perhaps less? Perhaps we are just a gimmick band to people? I think our music is stronger than most, I'm happy to compete on the 'normal' playing field visually.
If you had 24hours left to live how would you spend them?
With some young teen girls

Have you ever considered moving from Australia to further your musical career?
I have a few times, Sam and Matt are now living in the UK. Germany has been my choice many, many time I’ve been there 9 times. But I still call Australia home. You can’t beat it... And I have been most places

New album nearing completion
Luke from The Berzerker has updated us on how things are developing with the Aussie outfit’s much-anticipated new album, tentatively titled “WORLD OF LIES”.
Over to you Luke:

“The 3rd Berzerker album titled "WORLD OF LIES" is nearing completion. All of the lyrics and music have finally been completed. All that’s left now is some final vocal recordings, adding sounds and samples and the final mix. I'm amazingly happy with the new material, the guitar and bass tones are the best to date. All vocals - both high and low - have been performed by myself and is super tight”.

“We have definatly captured something very special on this album. "WORLD OF LIES" is filled with HUGE riffs supplied by the 2 guitarists that recorded on the first album, Adrian (from the Melbourne band Demon Other) and the ever-reliable Sam who has stuck by me from the very beginning. New Album Update
Hey all, just thought I'd post a quick update....
I'm currently working on the new album.... 90% of the guitars and bass have been recorded. Sam (Bass) and Matt (Guitar) are now living in the UK and Gary (Drums) is still living in Perth.
Sam has helped out with the guitar and bass along with Ed and Jay from the first album (and seen on the DVD)... and also extra guitar and bass has been supplied by my good mate Adrian from local Melbourne band Demon Other.
Matt and Gary have had no involvement with album no. 3 ..... Matt is now playing guitar for Akercoke... and Gary has reformed his old band the Plague...
I would like to wish them all the best and thank them for there undivided involvement on the Dissimulate album and Dissimulate tours!!!!
I am so happy with the new material I'm working on, I've gone back to doing both high and low vocals and really enjoying the process. The new album will defiantly bring back the feelings of old, the early 90's influences have not been stronger.
It's something very I have grown very fond of, I'm working very hard everyday on the material and should have the master delivered by the end of March 2005!!! So I guess that puts it at a mid 2005 release!!!!! (if all goes to plan).
This is definitely the heaviest and fastest material to date... with speeds topping 330bpm!!!! But with all the groove and Death Metal influence. That's about all I have for you up till now...
I'm currently working on lyrics and arrangements and will post more soon - Stay tuned a big album and a big year for The Berzerker!!!!!!!!

THE BERZERKER SET TO RELEASE DVD
The Berzerker are currently putting finishing touches on their first DVD - The Principles And Practices Of The Berzerker due to be released early March 2004
In 2002/2003 The Berzerker played over 100 live shows worldwide and shot a lot of video footage. The DVD will contain almost every song the band have written played live, footage from the band's own rehearsals, partying on the road and even the making of the masks!. The DVD will have over 30 minutes of interview footage with the band members and take a very in depth look at the recording of both the self titled and Dissimulate albums in The Berzerker's homestudio. If you sent in your own footage to The Berzerker then you may be one of the lucky ones to have your crazy antics featured on the DVD!
