'Scanner vs. Sign ov Chaos'

Michael Wells ALL INSTRUMENTS

Signs ov Chaos represents a deconstructed clash between the avant-garde and today's moves and grooves, providing a dark and hypnotic journey into a world of "Frankenscience."' So says Michael Wells, prolific originator and creator of Signs Ov Chaos, a new path of imagination from an artist already renowned for his diverse and extensive recording catalogue. Having established himself in various guises (Technohead, Church of Extacy, Tricky Disco, G.T.O.), Wells has moved into a decidedly darker dimension with Signs Ov Chaos, incorporating smooth grooves and moody soundscapes to produce an album that makes for an uncomfortably enjoyable experience.
Dedicated to long-time G.T.O. partner Lee Newman, who tragically passed away, "Frankenscience" was described as an 'introspective album of Post-Industrial Phunk and Freestyle Minimal grooves.' In layman's terms, the album was simply free of inhibitions, unafraid to experiment but never to the point of over-indulgence or absurdity. Equal measures of harshness and mellowness merged to form a consistent whole, slithering unnervingly from one concept to the next.
Luckily "Frankenscience" was the product of an intelligent mind - preventing it from becoming pretentious or self-obsessed, instead leading it into new realms. Basing Signs Ov Chaos on a fascination of Cyber Culture in all manifestations, the music it presents was as challenging and confrontational as possible, asking the listener to think as well as enjoy. With a totally uninhibited approach, "Frankenscience" invites you to use your imagination and challenge preconceived ideas about the state of the world as we find it - you're either with us or against us.
