Favoring a high intensity delivery built around ferocious technical structures and a true devotion to Death Metal's uncompromising formula, Lost Soul are one of Poland's premier Death Metal exports -- one of an elite, extreme crew of world-class crushers including Decapitated and Vader. Having proven their mettle over the last decade, through numerous releases and tours, Lost Soul are now the newest signing to Earache's Wicked World imprint, original home of Hate Eternal and Decapitated.

Lost Soul was founded in 1991 by vocalist/guitarist Jacek Grecki, drummer Adam Sierzega and bassist Tomasz Fornalski with the common goal to create unique, uncompromising metal. As their style took shape -- a combination of brutality, supreme musicianship and melody -- they coined the term "Cruel Death Art" to describe it. Lost Soul recorded their first demo tape, "Eternal Darkness", in 1993. The tape was followed-up with a second "Superior Ignotum", in 1994, which came to be regarded as one of more original Polish Death Metal recordings of the period. In the following year, Lost Soul signed with Baron Records which released a re-recording of "Superior Ignotum" with two bonus tracks from the first demo. The members of Lost Soul then took a hiatus, pursuing other projects including Hollow, Askalon, and Shemhamforash.

In 1997, after a two-year absence, Lost Soul regrouped and returned to the scene with new second guitarist Piotr Ostrowski. The quartet layed down the "...Now is Forever..." demo in February 1998. "...Now Is Forever..." possessed the elements that would come to define Lost Soul -- masterful musicianship, incredible speed and powerful sound combined with unique atmosphere. At this point Tomasz Fornalski was replaced with ex-Necrolatory bassist Krzysztof Artur Zagórowicz. Within a short period of time Lost Soul were playing shows with Dying Fetus, Deranged, Vader, Monstrosity, and Kataklysm, and were able to leave Poland for the first time, playing festivals and shows across Eastern Europe.

The "...Now is Forever..." material was re-released as part of Novum Vox

Mortis' "Disco's Out, Slaughter's In" and Relapse's "Polish Assault" compilations in 2000. Lost Soul finally delivered their full-length debut in 2000 in the form of "Scream of the Mourning Star", released through Metal Mind in Poland and Relapse throughout the rest of the world. "Scream"'s ten prime cuts solidified Lost Soul as one of the strongest hopes of the Polish scene.

In May 2002 the band signed with Empire Records, and recorded "Ubermensch (Death of God)" in Wroclaw's Tower Studio with Arek Malczewski (Behemoth, Devilyn). On the strength of "Ubermensch", Lost Soul signed with the France's Osmose Productions the following year.

Having completed a month long tour of their homeland with Vader, Lost Soul signed to their new home Wicked World in October 2004, and immediately set about preparing themselves for the new album, "Chaostream", due for worldwide release in February 2005..
