Hate Eternal DVD - 'The Perilous Fight' trailer online
For any Death Metal act, success in the live arena is paramount. Each band is judged on its ability to deliver in front of a live audience, to re-create the musicianship forged on record into a precision live delivery. Every band strives to become known as the best Death Metal live act as a matter of honour. Certainly Hate Eternal view every live appearance this way.

The band, led by the enigmatic Erik Rutan, have always let loose a 'take no prisoners' approach to all that they do. The very name of the band expresses such a rage and fury, leaving the listener in no doubt what to expect. Over the course of the three caustic albums - 'Conquering the Throne', 'King of All Kings' and 'I, Monarch' - Hate Eternal have refined and honed their devastating brand of all-out, total speed, hate-fuelled Death Metal. Despite line up changes, van crashes, tornados and a myriad of trials and tribulations along the way, the band have prevailed. And the live setting is the where Hate Eternal excels.

Filmed live in London June 4 2006 at The Garage, 'The Perilous Fight' shows Hate Eternal at their best. Coming at the end of an extensive US and European touring period that saw them bring Real Death Metal to new audiences by touring with the likes of Hatebreed, Chimaira and Arch Enemy, and featuring stand in drummer Reno Killerich, filling the drum stool vacated at the 11th hour by Derek Roddy, the band are tight and focused from the off.

Raging through 12 tracks selected from all their albums, the band blast, grind and pummel their way through the set with malice and intent. Rutan is also well known for spending years as part of the Morbid Angel line (a role he recently reprised) and works the crowd like a veteran, stoking the fires that little bit more throughout the performance.

The extras include an interview with the band immediately post-gig, where Rutan describes at length the reasons for his chosen musical path and how he has overcome the various obstacles thrown up during the band's existence. Additionally, all of the band's promo videos are included, in particular the unreleased clip for 'The Victorious Reign' filmed by Shane Drake (Trivium, Hawthorne Heights, Panic! At the Disco). Rutan also takes us on a tour of his own Mana Recording Studios, scene of much of his production work on bands such as Cannibal Corpse, Job for A Cowboy and of course, Hate Eternal.

With live sound expertly mixed by Rutan himself and artwork by Paul Romano (Mastodon), 'The Perilous Fight' is the definitive Hate Eternal audio-visual document

Floridian death metallers HATE ETERNAL have posted the following message on their official web site:
"[We] wanted to let you all know we have finally secured European dates that will not get cancelled. We want to apologize to all our European fans for the delay and cancellations due to problems within the band. We are ecstatic about touring Europe and proud to announce Reno Kiilerich [ex-DIMMU BORGIR, DEW-SCENTED, VILE, PANZERCHRIST] as our drummer for this European tour. Reno has done tremendous things in the genre and we are very excited to welcome him to the fold. He will do an amazing job and we are very eager to tour together.

"Our USA tour [with CHIMAIRA and ARCH ENEMY] has been incredible, close to 1,000 people a night and has been one of the best tours we have ever done. [Stand-in drummer] Kevin Talley [ex-CHIMAIRA, MISERY INDEX] is doing an incredible job and tearing it up every night. We really feel rejuvenated and this tour has been truly amazing. Look forward to seeing you all out there soon!"

Erik Rutan responds to Derek Roddy’s departure
If you've been following the metal online press over the last few days you're aware that drummer Derek Roddy has parted ways with Hate Eternal.
Unfortunately this departure was at a crucial time for Hate Eternal as the band are scheduled for a well-advertised tour with Chiamaira and Arch Enemy in only a matter of days. In an effort to persevere like he has done so many times, Erik Rutan sought out a replacement to sit behind the kit for the tour.

Erik has found a stand-in in KEVIN TALLEY. Kevin has played in a number of bands, namely Chimaira and Dying Fetus. We are excited for the tour and look forward to hearing how Talley will affect the live sound. Erik Rutan sent us this message to acknowledge and confront everything said by Roddy in his press release:

HATE ETERNAL ALIVE AND STRONGER THAN EVER!!!!
“First off, I want to say that Hate Eternal WILL NOT be cancelling any upcoming tour dates, PERIOD! We are very much looking forward to seeing everyone next week on the Chimaira / Arch Enemy tour as well as seeing you loyal sick maniacs in Europe who have been so patiently waiting to see us for over a year”.
“At this point we would like to announce that Kevin Talley will be stepping up to the plate and filling in on drums for the upcoming US Chimaira / Arch Enemy tour. Kevin is an amazing talent that we very much look forward to touring with and we want to thank him sincerely for his help in fulfilling our commitment”.
“Regarding Derek Roddy, He has left Hate Eternal with very little warning and I want to set the story straight. We wish to take the high road here so there will be no mud slinging and whining, just facts. Randy and I spoke to Derek this past weekend and he informed us that a situation in his life had arisen which might stop him from doing these tours and force him to leave the band. But if everything turned out OK, he would fulfil his obligation to the band and fulfil our touring commitments. We did not hear from Derek since that conversation and the next thing we know, 48 hours later, I get a phone call from a friend stating about Derek’s press release with him quitting the band in which we had no prior knowledge of, contradicting our conversation 2 days prior. I found out like everyone else did online!”
“Regarding the content of his press release, we Hate Eternal have never stopped or restrained Derek from playing, recording or touring with any other projects (He has recorded multiple albums during the 6 years of Hate Eternal with Council of the Fallen, Aurora Borealis, Nile, plus doing drum clinics, his instructional videos and his new project with Alex Webster). So we found his statement quite a contradiction and shocking to say the least. I still have not spoken to Derek since this and have no idea where his head is at. No one has supported Derek more than Randy and I for the last 6 years and we have made many sacrifices for Derek to be a part of this band. Anyone and everyone in this business knows if you think you are going to make tons of cash playing metal, than you are in it for the wrong reasons, that is why we have been supportive in Derek making money with his other projects, clinics, dvds, etc. We as a band have had financial setbacks with a van accident and being stranded in Canada forcing us to cancel many shows but every other tour we have done has made financial gain, not a ton of cash, but in the green. What band has not had financial woes? Hate Eternal has helped Derek become a very well known drummer, sell DVD instructional videos, endorsements etc and make tons of fans of Derek’s drumming. After 6 years of playing together we would have hoped that he would leave on better terms than he did, but life goes on. We wish Derek luck in his future endeavours.
Nothing will stop Hate Eternal!!

Sincerely,
Erik Rutan

The Critics Hail 'I, Monarch'!
Hate Eternal's new album, "I, Monarch" is out now, and it is an extreme metal masterpiece... one of the must-have albums of 2005!  But don't take out word for it.  Check out what the critics have been writing about "I, Monarch"...

"Out-of-control polyrhythms, syncopated vocal patterns that build to a schizophrenic freak-out, Tibetan drums, a frickin didjeridoo -- and it actually works."
-Bass Guitar

"Retaining every ounce of the sound that frayed nerve endings the world over and still managing to progress with a slightly more groove-based approach, intelligible vocals, and a few surprise compositional twists, it's a no-brainer that 'I, Monarch' is one of the year's best death metal releases."
-Blabbermouth.net

"9/10.  'I, Monarch' is a hyper-technical assault on the senses that reaches avant-garde epiphanies."
-BW&BK

"9/10.  The most devastating extremosity so far this year, outslaying even the new Nile."
-Decibel

"Unexpected twists and turns relentlessly appear throughout a continuously pummelling and thunderous cochlear assault."
-Exclaim!

"9/10.  The levels of precision, speed, song writing, and brutality are off the charts."
-Lambgoat

"One of the grandest undertakings ever attampted in death metal... 'I, Monarch' puts forth technicality that goes beyond technicality -- completely messy and atonal, yet somehow perfectly orchestrated and executed."
-New York Press

"4/5.  'I, Monarch' is an unrelenting assemblage of ridiculuosly fast blast beats, nonlinear arrangements, atonal guitars, and hellish vocals."
-Revolver

HATE ETERNAL NEAR TO COMPLETION OF RECORDING
Hate Eternal have completed the next benchmark in the history of extreme music. With dizzying musicality and creativity, Hate Eternal's third album, "I, Monarch", propels metal into the next dimension.
The fearsomely talented and broad-minded musical trinity of guitarist/vocalist Erik Rutan, drummer Derek Roddy, and bassist Randy Piro unites in new and transcendent ways on "I, Monarch". Torrential blastbeats (perhaps truly the fastest yet recorded) meld with inhuman polyrhythms whilst lyrical firestorms rain down with unmatched rage - yet the groove underlying the chaos is of collosal proportions. Amidst shredding guitar leads and warp-speed drums, strange and unexpected sounds lie lurking - Tibetan drums, tabla, didjeridoo. With "I, Monarch" Hate Eternal have struck a groundbreaking balance between groove and chaos, soul and precision, focused aggression and open-minded musical vision.
"I, Monarch" was recorded and mixed by Hate Eternal frontman Erik Rutan (Soilent Green, Into The Moat) at his own Mana Studios in Tampa, Florida. Artist Paul Romano (Mastodon, Trivium) is handling the cover art.
"I, Monarch"'s tracklisting is as follows:
(1) Two Demons
(2) Behold Judas
(3) The Victorious Reign
(4) To Know Our Enemies
(5) I, Monarch
(6) Path To The Eternal Gods
(7) The Plague Of Humanity
(8) It Is Our Will
(9) Sons Of Darkness
(10) Faceless One

"I, Monarch": June 28 release in the US
June 27 in the UK and Europe.

HATE ETERNAL NEAR TO COMPLETION OF RECORDING
Hate Eternal guitarist Erik Rutan as been speaking abut the final stages of the recording process of the band's new album, to be called 'I, Monarch', due for release in April 2005.
The band have released one special advance version of the title track for use on an upcoming Earache CD given away free with the January 19 issue of the UK's Metal Hammer magazine, and Rutan is thrilled to be nearing the time when the band can unleash the rest of the record.

Comments the guitarist/vocalist;
"Just wanted to let all the fans know our third Hate Eternal record 'I, Monarch' is being mixed as we speak and shall be finished on January 4th, 2005 for a spring 2005 release. I just want to say that never have I been so prepared for an album and never have I spent so much time crafting an album. Therefore I feel like we really captured something special. It sounds amazing. At my studio I bought the analog 2 inch machine from Morrisound that we recorded the whole album to which was very special. Jim Morris sold it to me. In the past I recorded both 'Domination' and part of the 'Gateways...' album with it, and it's been used on great albums by numerous other bands like Deicide, Suffocation, Cannibal Corpse and Death so it is a very classic machine and I am very honored to have it be a part of my studio now."
"The tones on this album are amazing, such depth and clarity yet so pummeling. The material is very diverse I feel without compromising what Hate Eternal represents, which is an extreme Metal outfit. I got some killer solos on here and the drumming on the record is groundbreaking I feel, so I am very psyched to get this thing out and tour our asses off next year. I
think everyone will be very pleased. We look forward to getting back on the road and supporting 'I, Monarch' with a few surprises for sure . Hope all is Well for all our fans out there and be prepared!"
