MASSIVE COMPENSATION FOR NEAR FATAL ACCIDENT
Seminal New York eclectic rock act Candiria have been awarded a massive compensation settlement, pending appeal, for injuries and suffering they experienced after a near fatal road accident while on tour in the US on September 9th 2002.
Headed for Cleveland, Candiria were rear-ended by 18 wheel tractor trailer which completely disintergrated the bands equipment trailer and ploughed on, into the back of their van, flipping it for almost 100 yards before stopping, jettisoning band members through windows and doors in the process.

As a result of the accident all members of Candiria were hospitalised with critical injuries. The band was placed on hiatus for two years until the recording and eventual release of the storming new record, 'What Doesn't Kill You...Only Makes You Stronger', due for European release on Earache on May 23.

The estimated total of the award is rumoured to be in the region of $29 million. Its is unclear at this stage when the band will receive their compensation.
In other band news, Candiria's new video for lead album cut 'Remove Yourself' is about to debut Europe-wide this month.

Earache new signing: Candiria
Earache is extremely pleased to welcome legendary US evolutionists Candiria to the family as part of a deal that will see the band's latest album 'What Doesn't Kill You...' issued on Earache in Europe in May.
Earache is extremely pleased to welcome legendary US evolutionists Candiria to the family as part of a deal that will see the band's latest album "What doesn't Kill You..." issued on Earache in Europe in May.
Candiria's previous releases showcased an eclectic mix of Metal, Hardcore and Jazz that preceeded the current fashion for jazz-style complexity in what became termed as 'noisecore', and offered listeners the opportunity to experience something genuinely different and refreshing.
Having established a firm fanbase among open minded music fans across the globe, Candiria was involved in a near fatal van crash in September 2002 while on tour. Time passed slowly as the band recovered from the horrific fallout of the crash, but showed strength and courage in returning to the studio in 2004 to record the awesome new album, ironically titled 'What Doesn't Kill You...', going so far as to feature a photograph of their battered and broken van, post-crash on the album sleeve.
Further unfurling Candiria's super-smooth super-tight sound, the album sees the band mix just the right amount of old and new to create their best work to date. having ended 2004 touring the US with Killswitch Engage and Shadow's Fall, the band is back on the road, currently with American Headcharge and Otep.
Earache's Tan Tobin explains; "Candiria have always stood out as something very different withing the rock and metal scene, Earache admired from afar their diversity, integrity and also now their professional and personal courage. When the opportunity came to work with the band, we jumped at the chance to work with a genuinely forward thinking act on what turned out to be a simply awesome record.
Drummer Kenneth Schalk comments, "We were blown away by Earache's belief and understanding in the band. We can't wait to get over there and tour the world".
'What Doesn't Kill You...' is scheduled for a may release in Europe on Earache.
