Beecher announce final show
After almost five years of existence, Beecher have announced that they are to play their final ever show on February 1st 2006 in their hometown of Manchester.
On the decision to wind up the band, vocalist Ed Godby comments:
"The reason for the break-up is a combination of personal reasons that no one outside of our band needs to know, but rest assured now is the time. We have made some great friends and fans along the way and to those people we give our sincere thanks. We hope our band will live on in your memories, as it’s sure to in ours. We’ve had some fucking good times".

Beecher will no longer be appearing on the Elegies, Mutations and Propaganda European tour with Earache label mates Municipal Waste and Linea 77 and would like to extend their apologies to anyone who was hoping to see the band on those dates.

All at Earache would like to wish Ed, Mark, Danny, Daniel & David the best of luck in the future and would like to thank them for some of the most energetic, electrifying and innovative music we have heard over the last few years.

BEECHER talk about new album
Beecher frontman Ed Godby talks about the bands new album, “This Elegy, His Autopsy”, which they recorded recently with Kurt Ballou of Converge at God City Studios, Boston USA:
" The recording of 'This Elegy, His Autopsy,' was an interesting and satisfying experience, because it was the first time that we, really, had enough studio time to experiment properly with our sound”.

“Over the 12 months previous to recording we had been very occupied with putting together an album, in the rehearsal room, that explored more deeply all the different sounds that make up Beecher, and we all felt, as the time came to enter the studio, that what we had come up with was a more substantial and thorough piece of music”.

“I think that the result of the recording process is an all-round more focussed effort than anything we have done previously, not only in the fact that the album tells a story, but it also creates an atmosphere”.“ The mood of the record twists and turns over 43 minutes, from the songs which might be described as having a definitive 'Beecher' sound, such as the opener “It's Good Weather For Black Leather” to the hypnotic, almost post-rock esque ". And On The Day That He Became A Human Plumb Line” onto the frantic, grinding melee of “Psycho Galvanic Skin Response” to the crushing finale of 'Reach Up To The Gods”.

“All in all we seem to have developed on all of the sounds and influences that we have always cited as Beecher, and we have created a record that we feel is exciting and original. Both raging and beautiful, 'This Elegy, His Autopsy’ could well be our defining album."

“This Elegy, His Autopsy” is released on Earache on September 12th 2005

EARACHE SIGN BEECHER
Earache is proud to unveil Beecher as a new addition to the family as part of a multi-album worldwide recording deal.
Fusing the ethics of primal hardcore with a love for the technicalities and aggression of Metal, Beecher have become known as one of the hardest working bands on the live circuit, treading the boards with the likes of Dillinger Escape Plan, The Red Chord, Cult of Luna and SiKTH and constantly winning converts with every new show.

Early 2004 will see a re-release on Earache for Beecher's landmark 'Breaking the Fourth Wall' album with unreleased material, followed by the demoing of new material for the eventual recording of the debut for the label in the summer.

Guitarist Mark Lyons had this to say about the band's new status; "We are proud to be joining forces with one of the most prominent and influential extreme labels out there, and one of our favorite labels to date with an artist roster that mirrors our own music collections. We look forward to finally getting our records out worldwide!"

Beecher play their last gig of 2004 at the Phoenix in Manchester on December 20th, before confirming more live work to be announced for 2005.
