In May of 1994 Earache released Anal Cunt's debut full length record, "Everyone Should Be Killed". This landmark release by the Boston underground's noise-grinding, histrionic, punk legends is a hyperblast of 58 noise-laden, hate-fueled one minute long tracks clocking in at just under an hour.
The mainstream music press immediately denounced them. Several magazines and music critics deemed it unlistenable, passed it off as a joke, and condemmed it and branded the band as one of the most offensive outfits ever to soil the CD format. The rest of the media, however, particularly the underground media, showered it with praise, hailing it as music's furthest extreme in the vein of punk legend G.G. Allin. In March of 1995 A.C. released their "Top 40 Hits" full length and the Stayin' Alive 7 inch. By this time their reputation had grown to legendary status in the underground music scene. People knew what to expect from this infamous outfit, and they were not disappointed. Clubs were destroyed, new crowds were intimidated, and the locals yokels were puked on, pissed on and pissed off. Meanwhile, the group's police records were steadily piling up. One year later, the band that no one ever thought would get signed released their masterwork entitled "40 More Reasons To Hate Us". The humour ante was raised and the noise level dropped, leaving 42 visceral blasts of some of the finest fast hardcore-punk tracks (give or take an acapella track or two) that have been seen/heard in quite some time. |
